JUNE 24, 1974 The first property purchased by Rosen Hotels & Resorts was the Rosen Inn International, formerly the Quality Inn International, with 256 rooms.
JUNE 24, 1975 Rosen Inn closest to Universal, formerly the Rodeway Inn, had 251 rooms when it was purchased. An expansion in 1979 brought it to 315 rooms.
May 15, 1987 Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista, formerly the Comfort Inn, opened with 320 rooms and quickly doubled its size to 640 rooms. Opening night saw Harris Rosen stand in the parking lot turning people away, directing them to sister properties.
September 13, 1991 Rosen Plaza was Rosen Hotels & Resorts' first full-service convention hotel with 800 sleeping rooms and 60,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. The Rosen Plaza ishome to one of Orlando's most popular nightclubs, and to fine dining restaurants.
October 31, 1995 Rosen Hotels & Resorts opened its second full-service convention hotel, Rosen Centre. Rising 24 stories over International Drive, the hotel boasts more than 100,000 sq. ft. of meeting space.
December 1, 2003 Rosen Hotels & Resorts' Shingle Creek Golf Club opened featuring a David Harman designed 18-hole championship golf course. September 9, 2006 Rosen Shingle Creek opens with 1,501 guest rooms and suites and over 462,000 square feet of "state of the art" ballroom and meeting facilities. It boasts one of the largest "column free" ballrooms in the United States measuring 95,000 sq ft. The hotel also features a full-service spa, a state of the art health club, fine dining Italian bistro and Shingle Creek Golf Club.
